INDIGENOUS treatment abysmal
INDIGENOUS PEOPLE TREATED DIFFERENTLY! I made an appointment just after Christmas for June 2. I show up 15 minutes before my appointment and am told that they called someone that indicated I would not show. Interesting to note that I am 51, a Chief of a local Indigenous community and apparently not important enough or capable enough to receive a direct call to answer questions. Ensuring the poor health of Indigenous people is alive and well at the Ashcroft Dental Clinic. Many community members go elsewhere for treatment. No accountability but many excuses to perpetuate poor outcomes for the Indigenous. I have a landline and am in the directory but that takes too much effort. Meanwhile, a mass grave is found with Indigenous children in the past few days yet in the wisdom of the Ashcroft Dental Clinic, Indigenous leaders have little to accomplish on a daily basis and are not mature enough to receive calls and answer questions. Sickening to know that many schedules were modified to accommodate my appointment and that this behaviour will further impact as I look for a more respectful dental clinic.
